The ISLEX Dictionary / ISLEX-orðabókin is an online multilingual dictionary between modern Icelandic and six Scandinavian languages: Danish, Norwegian (both standards: Bokmål and Nynorsk), Swedish, Faroese and Finnish. The dictionary is updated continously and is accessible free of charge.
ISLEX has been established in collaboration between institutions in Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands and Finland: the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies (SÁM) in Reykjavik, the Danish Language and Literature Society in Copenhagen, Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetic Studies at the University of Bergen, the Department of the Swedish Language at the University of Gothenburg, the Føroya Research Center in Tórshavn and the University of Helsinki.
