The instructions in the sections below concern references to authored books and edited books. Authored books are books where all chapters have the same author(s). In edited books, on the other hand, the chapters are written by different authors and the work is coordinated by an editor. Note that the book chapter is generally the entity referred to when citing edited books (see separate section for references to Book chapters).
