NB! The APA (7th edition) manual does not contain any specific instructions on how to refer to government publications outside of the United States. The recommendation is instead to format the references according to guidelines in each country. The instructions under this section are our interpretation of how to apply APA (7th edition) to Swedish government publications and official records that are not covered elsewhere in this guide.

Some Swedish government publications and official records will have a group author, e.g. organization, company or authority, instead of a personal author. If the publisher is the same as the group author, omit the publisher from the source element. If the record has a file reference number (diarienummer) you should include it in your reference. You should also add a descriptive term within square brackets if it will make it easier for the reader to identify the material, for instance, if there are several records pertaining to the same matter that have the same title. If you accessed the publication or record online, include the URL of the website from which it was retrieved in the reference.
