How to search for scholarly sources

Preparing for Writing Assignments

When you write a paper at the university, you should use scientific information from sources like scholarly articles, conference papers, and academic books. Through the library, you have access to library catalogues and databases where these sources can be found. In library catalogues, you will primarily find books, both printed and electronic. Books often provide context and background information for your topic of research. In databases, you can find articles and conference papers, among other things. Articles and conference papers are useful when you need to find the latest research in your field.

In the library's search service, LUBsearch, you can search both the library catalogue and numerous databases simultaneously. You have access to most databases even off-campus. Go to LUBsearch and log in with your student account to access these sources.
