How to search for scholarly sources

Save Searches and Create Alerts

Save your searches

By creating an account in a database, you can save interesting articles to read later. You can also save your search queries and rerun them whenever needed.

By doing so you don’t have to retype long and complex search strings if you want to repeat a search. In LUBsearch and other EBSCO databases (for example, PsycINFO, SocINDEX and Political Science Complete) you can create an account by clicking on "My Folder" and selecting "Sign Up."

Create alerts

In most databases you can create alerts to get notifications when new articles, matching your search criteria, are published or when an author releases a new publication. By setting up alerts, you can stay updated on your topic without rerunning previous searches. You set up your alerts in your account and receive e-mail when relevant publications become available.
