to this guide providing information about reference management tools for staff and students at Lund University.
This site is updated by librarians at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Lund University, working with reference management programs such as EndNote. As an employee or student at the Faculty of Social Sciences you can always contact us by e-mail: ref@sambib.lu.se.
Why should I invest time in a reference management software?
A reference management software will help you collect and sort the references you need in your work. It is built like a personal library, costumized for your personal needs.
Your library will also be accessible (for some software, such as EndNote or Zotero) through Microsoft Word - this will help you create the references within the text as well as the bibliography in an output style of your choice.
Which software should I use?
The Lund University Libraries Head office and LDC have a site license agreement which makes EndNote available to students and faculty at Lund University. The licenses are financed by the Lund University Libraries Head office and distributed by LDC.
EndNote is available for both PC and Mac and includes the following functions:
Contact your IT-department if you wish to start using EndNote.
Another option is to use Zotero, which is an open source software for reference management. Zotero is free to download and works in a similar way as Endnote. See the Zotero tab for more information.
