Journals and articles

You find scholarly journal articles using LUBsearch or one of our many subject databases. LUBsearch searches all of our databases and their contents. Searching in LUBsearch will also generate content such as printed books, e-books, online encyclopedias, research reports, and more.

LUBsearch

Google Scholar "provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: articles, theses, books, abstracts, and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities, and other websites." (About Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/intl/en/scholar/about.html)

Useful Google Scholar features include ‘Cited By’, which indicates other authors who have cited the work you have discovered, and ‘Related Articles’, which uses Google algorithms to find other items related to the subject of the item you have discovered.

We recommended accessing Google Scholar in LUBsearch (use the Database A-Z list), accessing Google Scholar in this way allows Google to recognize you as a LU student, and Google will alert you, with information on the right-hand side of the screen, which licensed materials you can access in full text.
