International Master's Programme

The Development Studies Association promotes and advances international development as a field of study, research and action. The aim is to deepen understanding of how global poverty, inequalities, conflict and environmental destruction are produced, sustained and may be overcome, and how a better future may be advanced.

EADI, the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes, is the leading European network in the field of Development Studies: With more than 100 institutional members in more than 25 countries it.organises activities and provides platforms for international networking and exchange with a strong interdisciplinary focus.

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a leading global institution for development research, teaching and learning, and impact and communications, based at the University of Sussex.

This journal is a wide interdisciplinary publication which seeks to further debate and discuss the important concept of sustainable development. The scope of the journal therefore allows for contributions which have a local, national or global focus from a philosophical to a practical perspective.

World Development is a multi-disciplinary monthly journal of development studies. It seeks to explore ways of improving standards of living, and the human condition generally, by examining potential solutions to problems such as: poverty, unemployment, malnutrition, disease, lack of shelter, environmental degradation, inadequate scientific and technological resources, trade and payments imbalances, international debt, gender and ethnic discrimination, militarism and civil conflict, and lack of popular participation in economic and political life.

Climate and Development publishes research on the human dimensions of climate and development. Climate and Development is published in cooperation with Stockholm Environment Institute.

Climate and Development invites manuscripts on one or more of the following themes: (1) Tensions, disconnects and synergies between climate change adaptation, or mitigation policy or actions, and development policy or actions. (2) Feminist, decolonial, antiracist and other forms of critical scholarship in relation to climate change adaptation or mitigation. (3) Implications of climate change adaptation and mitigation for poverty, equity or social justice.

socialprotection.org is an online member-based knowledge sharing and capacity building platform, open to social protection practitioners, policy-makers, and experts, as well as academics and students. The unbranded platform directs access to the most up-to-date and comprehensive content on social protection, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. Through these endeavours it has established a global interactive community of social protection practitioners.

GreenFILE is a multidisciplinary database that offers information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment in a variety of disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology. Topics covered include global climate change, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. Also included in GreenFILE is a 6,800-term Thesaurus.

The database also features over 340 full-text reference books and monographs, and over 36,000 full-text conference papers, including those of the International Political Science Association.
